Corporate Carbon Advisory joins the Carbon Market Institute

Tuesday 4 June 2013
Corporate Carbon Advisory has recently joined the Carbon Market Institute (CMI).  CMI is a membership-based not-for-profit peak body that assists Australian businesses in taking advantage of opportunities associated with the developing carbon market in Australia and overseas.  CMI engages members by facilitating networks, knowledge exchange and commercial interaction amongst key policy makers and regulators, industry, financiers and investors, professional services companies and technology solution providers.
“Corporate Carbon recognises the value of the CMI services to members, such as support for members in undertaking the Carbon Financial Markets module in the Australian Financial Markets Accreditation Program,” said Matthew Warnken, Managing Director of Corporate Carbon Advisory.  “Corporate Carbon is looking forward to participating in CMI initiatives and working with companies ready to monetise greenhouse gas abatement opportunities in the carbon economy.”
CMI formed a strategic alliance with the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) in May 2013.  “Carbon policy is a rapidly changing space and it is important to have a credible organisation such as CMI provide information to members and input into shaping government policy,” noted Matthew.  “The alliance with IETA will provide a useful international perspective of Australia’s carbon market.”
Peter Castellas, CMI’s CEO said, “We recognise Corporate Carbon as leaders in methodology development in the Carbon Farming Initiative, being the first private company to author a successful methodology determination and the only company to have successfully authored three methodology determinations.  We are pleased to have them as members of CMI.”
