Corporate Carbon Advisory is pleased to announce the award of their Australian Financial Services (AFS) Licence by the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC). The licence authorises Corporate Carbon Advisory to provide general financial product advice to clients on carbon units, Australian carbon credit units and eligible international emissions units. The licence also allows Corporate Carbon Advisory to deal in financial products by applying for, acquiring, varying or disposing of any of the abovementioned carbon or emissions units.
In Australia, an AFS licence is required to conduct a financial services business. This includes the provision of financial advice around the value of carbon credits and permits. Applicants undergo a thorough assessment of their ability to carry out a financial services business, their financial resources to carry on the business and whether they meet other obligations under the AFS licence scheme.
Matthew Warnken, Managing Director of Corporate Carbon Advisory says, “Having an AFS licence with regard to carbon credits allows Corporate Carbon to provide a one-stop carbon shop to monetise greenhouse gas abatement projects. We are in a unique position to offer businesses complex technical analyses combined with commercial insight and focus.”
