Ian Tincknell, Regional Manager SWQLD
Ian has dedicated his entire working life to the Australian beef cattle industry. After completing school in 1985, he began working on his family's cattle property before expanding his experience across a number of large beef enterprises throughout the Gulf region and Queensland. Over the past 40 years, he has developed extensive practical knowledge and skills in cattle production, horsemanship, and the management of large-scale grazing operations.
Throughout his career, Ian has gained broad experience across all aspects of the beef industry. He was also heavily involved with the Gulf Ringer Training Association (GRTA), contributing to the development of an industry-recognised apprenticeship program for the beef cattle sector. His involvement reflected his commitment to developing skills and supporting the future of the industry.
Ian and his wife, Pauline, owned and operated a cattle property north of Georgetown for 15 years, where they raised their family while managing a successful grazing enterprise. After selling the property, they established and operated a fencing and loader hire contracting business for the following seven years, building a strong reputation for quality work and reliability.
The next stage of Ian's career came when he accepted the opportunity to become Regional Manager for Paniri in the Cunnamulla district of Southwest Queensland. This role enabled him to draw on his decades of practical experience, leadership, and industry knowledge to support producers and oversee operations across the region.
