Australia’s biodiversity credit market emerges

Making the case for why biodiversity credits not only restore nature but build climate resilience and unlock private sector investment, Kate calls for strong national standards, early government participation, and a rethink on how credits are structured to ensure this emerging market delivers real ecological value.

“For biodiversity crediting to succeed, a clear, credible, and science-backed methodology is essential - both in rural and urban settings,” said Kate. “Without strong standards, the biodiversity market could become fragmented and fail to build investor confidence.”
