Corporate Carbon Group announces new CEO

CCG appoints Marc Train as Chief Executive Officer as Gary Wyatt steps into a new role as Executive Director.

After six years leading Corporate Carbon Group (CCG) as Managing Director, Gary Wyatt will step into a new role as Executive Director, as Marc Train is appointed Chief Executive Officer.

Marc joined CCG in early 2024 and was soon promoted to General Manager. Since then, he has played a central role in strengthening operational delivery, expanding advisory services, and building deeper engagement with investors and partners. He brings more than a decade of experience across financial and commodities markets, including senior roles in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, commodities, and business development. He has built his career on delivering growth, forging strong partnerships, and navigating complex market environments. This experience directly aligns with the challenges and opportunities ahead for the carbon sector.

Gary’s leadership over the past six years has established CCG as one of Australia’s leading carbon project developers, trusted by landholders, investors, and industry partners alike. In his new role as Executive Director, he will continue to shape strategy, provide governance leadership, and maintain key relationships.

“This is a natural next step for both Marc and the business. Marc has already demonstrated his ability to lead and deliver for our stakeholders, and I look forward to continuing to work closely with him as the business enters its next chapter.” said Gary Wyatt, Executive Director, Corporate Carbon Group.

“This is an exciting time to lead Corporate Carbon Group as Australia’s carbon market continues to evolve. Gary has shaped the business into one of the most trusted project developers in the country, and I am grateful to build on that foundation. My focus will be on strengthening partnerships, supporting clients through change, and positioning the business to play an even greater role in the climate transition.” said Marc Train, CEO, Corporate Carbon Group.

As Australia sets new 2035 emissions reduction targets and reforms to the Safeguard Mechanism and methodologies reshape the carbon market, strong leadership has never been more critical. Marc’s appointment reflects the business’ strategy to expand its project pipeline, strengthen investor engagement, and provide practical support for landholders and industry participants navigating change.

With Marc leading day-to-day and Gary continuing to guide strategy, CCG is positioned to grow its impact while maintaining the culture that has defined its success. The business will continue to deliver projects overseen with rigorous transparency, independent verification, and ethical execution, while preserving its commitment to fairness, scientific rigour, open dialogue, and accountability in every project.
